Job Description: Manager (Sales, Marketing & E-Commerce Operations)
About the Project: IndiaHandmade
IndiaHandmade is a flagship initiative to promote Indian artisans, handicrafts, and local entrepreneurs through a dedicated digital marketplace.
The Manager (Sales, Marketing & E-Commerce Operations) will play a critical role in:
Driving online sales,
Managing marketing campaigns, and
Ensuring seamless e-commerce operations.
The role combines sales acumen, marketing expertise, and operational execution to support artisans and MSMEs in expanding their reach while strengthening the IndiaHandmade brand.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
Drive online sales growth for handicrafts and handloom products.
Develop strategies to expand into domestic and international markets.
Build partnerships with logistics providers, payment gateways, and marketplaces.
Monitor KPIs such as Gross Merchandise Value (GMV), order growth, and customer retention.
2. Marketing & Brand Promotion
Design and implement integrated marketing campaigns (digital, social media, influencer collaborations, offline events).
Position IndiaHandmade as the trusted brand for authentic Indian handmade products.
Highlight artisan success stories through storytelling, content marketing, and social media.
Collaborate with government bodies, NGOs, and trade associations for wider outreach.
3. E-Commerce Operations
Oversee daily platform operations: product listings, promotions, merchandising, and campaign execution.
Ensure a smooth customer journey from product discovery to delivery and returns.
Assist artisans and MSMEs in onboarding and enhancing digital commerce readiness.
Manage CRM, marketing automation, and customer support systems to improve retention and repeat sales.
4. Insights & Innovation
Leverage data analytics to improve sales funnels, conversion rates, and engagement.
Stay informed on e-commerce innovations and marketplace trends in the handicraft sector.
Introduce initiatives such as personalization, loyalty programs, and cross-border e-commerce to scale the platform.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, E-Commerce, or related field.
6+ years of experience in sales and marketing within e-commerce, retail, or digital-first organizations.
Exposure to marketplace operations and experience with handicrafts, handlooms, MSMEs, or grassroots enterprises is highly desirable.
Core Skills
Strong expertise in sales growth, performance marketing, and e-commerce operations.
Ability to scale digital platforms while supporting small sellers and artisans.
Proficiency in CRM, data analytics, and digital marketing tools.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Balance between strategic planning and hands-on execution.
Desirable Skills
Familiarity with global e-commerce platforms for artisan products.
General Conditions Applicable to All Applicants

Candidates who are employed on a regular or contractual basis under the Central/State Government, Public Sector Undertakings, or Autonomous Bodies must either:

Nature of Engagement
All positions are purely temporary and project-based.
Appointees shall have no claim for permanent employment at Digital India Corporation.
No rights can be derived for appointment against any existing or future vacancies.
Termination of Appointment
Digital India Corporation may terminate services for any position with one month’s notice.
Alternatively, termination may occur without notice by compensating one month’s salary in lieu of notice.
